Term: May 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026

Compensation: $3,750 CAD per month (fixed-term contract)

About Nanaimo Climate Action Hub

The Nanaimo Climate Action Hub is a community-based, volunteer-driven organization advancing local climate solutions through collaboration, education, and action. We bring together residents, businesses, non-profits, and local governments to accelerate practical, community-led responses to climate change in the Nanaimo region.

Position Overview

Continuing the momentum we built with our highly successful Nanaimo Climate Connections 2025 Summit, we are now planning to host our next Nanaimo Climate Connections event in early 2027.

We are seeking a highly motivated university student to serve as our Event Coordinator Summer Intern. The successful candidate will play a central role in laying the groundwork for the 2027 event, plus take on other critical Hub work.

Working closely with our Steering committee, and under the direct supervision of the NCAH Community Engagement Working Group Lead, the intern will assist in the coordination of all major aspects of the event — including content development, speaker outreach, sponsorship engagement, promotions, logistics, and budget tracking.

This is a four-month, full-time position (independent contractor arrangement). The successful candidate must reside in Nanaimo or the surrounding region and be available for in-person meetings, venue visits and vendor coordination as required (close enough for reasonable commute as needed, sometimes on short notice).

There is a possibility of part-time contract continuation into Fall/Winter 2026–2027, subject to funding and mutual agreement.
