Nanaimo Climate Action Hub is a non-profit, grassroots, membership driven organization working in the community to effect change both locally and globally. We collaborate with other groups in Nanaimo and beyond, connecting people to people, people to knowledge, and people to action in response to the climate crisis.

We are a non-partisan organization, working with elected officials, community leaders and local citizens in the interest of fighting the climate emergency.

Committed To:

Nanaimo Climate Action Hub endeavors to act with kindness and respect toward all.

Equity

(Racial, Generational and Economic)
We acknowledge the inherent rights of Indigenous peoples and their right to land. It is from our shared concern for “the seven generations to come” that we work together in response to the climate crisis.

We recognize that vulnerable populations and those most affected by efforts to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions (e.g. workers in the fossil fuel industry and low to moderate income British Columbians) require special consideration.

Scientific evidence and new research findings guide the initiatives of the Nanaimo Climate Action Hub. We engage in solution-oriented, bold action to mitigate the effects of climate change. We demonstrate leadership and pursue the transition from fossil fuels with positive focus.

WE SEEK:

  1. Environmental justice for all of humanity and every species.
  2. A sustainable, circular and green economy, which is fair and just for all. To eliminate anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions
  3. To slow the rise in global temperatures that are contributing to biodiversity collapse because species cannot adapt fast enough to survive
